The Bell Consultants provide free technical support to local ringing bands and to the PCCs. Support ranges from inspection, reporting and making recommendations on technical aspects of existing bell installations to assisting PCCs in applications for Faculties for new bell installation projects. The Bell Consultants are fully qualified mechanical engineers and their out of pocket expenses are met by the Association’s Bell Repair Fund to which many PCCs in the Diocese are affiliated by paying an annual donation.

A summary of work carried out is published every year in the Annual Report. Listed below is a sample of their reports with older reports, such as the old bell frame at Stanton in Peak, included for historical reasons.

All requests for inspections and advice should be in writing with the authority of the PCC.
